Longhirst offers the finest British ingredients including Kielder organic beef, fresh fish from North Shields, game from the Duke of Northumberland’s estate plus prime lamb from Dunterley Farm. Our Head Chef and his team deliver the best of British modern classic dishes with a creative, innovative twist.

Dine in the Boyson Restaurant which offers dishes using local Northumberland produce. Relax with drinks or dine more informally in the Collingwood Bar, or unwind with afternoon tea in the drawing room.

Boyson restaurant

Our menu changes seasonally, making the most of the best quality ingredients. Residents and non-residents alike are welcome to dine in the restaurant which is open for dinner every evening and on Sunday for Sunday lunch. Bookings for tables of up to 8 people can be accommodated in the Boyson Restaurant.  However, for bookings of 9 persons or more we offer private dining facilities.

Collingwood Bar

The Collingwood Bar offers the best of British pub food delivered at restaurant quality in an inviting and warm setting.

The new 200-seater bar is the perfect informal meeting space for conference delegates after a hard day of meetings, or for local residents to unwind and relax. The Collingwood offers a range of freshly prepared hot and cold food served from 12 noon until 9.30pm every day.  See our sample menu opposite for more details.

Private dining

Sticky Wicket

The Sticky Wicket Bar is located in the cellar under the Grand Hall, primarily used for private bookings or individual parties.

Dobson Bar

The Dobson Bar is located in the Grand Hall, the ideal location for private functions.
